The British Museum's Quest for Variety: : Recent Acquisitions selected by the Curators

A big thank you from us all at the Print Fair to the British Museum Prints and Drawings Curators for this fascinating glimpse into their world. The title of this exhibition was suggested by Hugo Chapman, Keeper of the Department, and it highlights their aim not only to fill gaps in the existing collection but also to broaden its scope with new - and sometimes unexpected - material.
The presence of all curators at art fairs creates a buzz of excitement amongst exhibitors and many of our participants will be delighted to see work that they have published, sold or donated highlighted here. Acknowledgement should also be given to the many donors and benefactors who enable these purchases. Together they form an important part of the print community and we are delighted to have them on board with us here.
