Hand printed on Japanese paper using four separate woodblocks one for each colour. The blocks are printed in particular sequence for maximum effect to give rich overlays of colour. The artist grew up in Cumbria, and 'Eden Valley Apples' depicts some of the varieties of apples including Sunset, Egremont Russet and Worcester Pearmain, grown by her father in the Eden Valley in Cumbria, and celebrates their forms, colours and curling leaves picked from the trees.
