This is an inkjet print on Japanese Kozo paper that has been waxed and then folded to form a three-dimensional work. I made a series of these works after my residency in 2019 at the Scuola Internationale di Grafica in Venice. Not surprisingly, the canals that I walked by and over each day drew my attention.: the complexity of pattern and reflections. The title suggests, however, that nothing is purely objective, or ‘out there’: what we see, notice and hold it as much to do with us as it is with the world.
