Shoe Hunt', is part of series of etchings entitled OASIS.
These are all based on the Arlington Baths Club in the Woodlands area of Glasgow. Arlington Baths Club was a private members club founded in 1870. It is the oldest Victorian baths of its kind in Europe.
Fouzia was inspired by the quirkiness of the objects, spaces and histories that lie behind the walls of baths. This image captures the atmosphere of a room named "The slipper room," where members upon entering the baths leave their shoes and swap them for slippers. On leaving its often difficult to find you shoes in the gridded array of open lockers and so begins the 'shoe hunt.'
