Rare, only a small number of impressions were printed. Like many of his contemporaries, Chahine had a fascination with street life and spectacle. Tabanelli 159, fifth state of five, proof hand-coloured in green, pink and light brown chalks, inscribed lower right in pencil ‘étude - épreuve tirée par moi, Chahine’, signed in full a second time lower left. A fine impression printed slightly off-centre on thick laid Arches paper with deckle edges and small margins. These slightly mat-burned, a pin-hole in the upper background, otherwise in good condition.
