Excessively rare. No other impression has appeared on the market since this one was sold at Sotheby’s London in 1987. A brilliant, rich impression with small margins all round. From a group of Christ and the Apostles, which includes some second versions, as Bellange appears to have worked on the series over an extended period and it is very likely to have been unfinished at his death. Dust-marked in the margins, especially at the bottom, three tiny marks in what appears to be blue pencil on the saint’s right thigh, several creases at the corners, generally in very good condition.
