Kenneth Holmes OBE

in the margins to the front mount, without any apparent ill effect to the sheet. Holmes studied at Skipton School and Art and Leeds College of Art before attending the Royal College of Art 1923-27. The following year he spent in Italy. He was primarily a graphic artist and a fine architectural draughtsman. In 1934, aged only thirty-two Holmes was appointed Principal of Leicester College of Art, a post he held for twenty-two years. Also known as the Ponte Sublicio or Ponte Marmoreo, the original bridge was the first in Rome to cross the Tiber. The present bridge, with the same names, was built in 1918.
