Signature and imperial privilege on the pedestal at the bottom left: "HGoltzius sculpt. Cum privil Sa. Cae. M." ("HG" intertwined), and with the publishers address at the right: "Herman Adofz excud. Haerlemen." Caption on the base of the statue, in Latin and in Greek: "HERCUVLES ΛΛΕΞIKAKOΖ" / In script. Roman. "CŌM[M]ODVS IMPERATOR". Two lines of Latin in the margin, at centre: "Statue antiqua Romae (...) belle vider, / opus posthumum (...) divulgatum. An°.M.D.C.XVII". Two Latin distichs by Theodorus Schrevelius at the left and right margin: "Telamonis aulam (...) intactum darent". Signed at the right: "Schreve".
