Ensō is associated with enlightenment, freedom, calmness and a state of no mind. Traditionally it is drawn as a single ink circle, reflecting the artist's moment of clarity. But real life rarely allows for perfection. In this series, I've depicted the ensō as broken, interrupted or dissolved. Emphasising imperfection and echoing how everyday realities shape our creative practice. Deadlines, domestic demands, childcare, even the leaky roof, they all leave their mark and shape our work no matter how much we fight against them. When I see Ensō in art, it often feels too perfect, almost dishonest. My work explores the truth of persistence, creating despite the noise, embracing the flaws and presenting the mistakes.
