This poster was designed by Picasso with Henri Deschamps, Mourlot's master printer, to promote Côte d’Azur for the Ministry of Transport and Public Works in France in 1962. Picasso supplied picture 25 of the series: Pigeons at La Californie which he painted in September 1957. Deschamps produced the lithograph and Picasso wrote the text.
