The series 'Paper Sculpture' speaks to the essence of Liudmila Kruitkova's practice. Her oeuvre is distinguished by the fusion of sculptural and graphic languages: in her three-dimensional works the line becomes a key structural element, while in her works on paper one can perceive the effect of geometric relief. Through such intermedial dialogue works such as this one are produced, underpinned by Krutikova's mastery of the intaglio etching that allows her to carefully control tonality and line.
