Based on a new painting Hoque created for the occasion of his first foray into printmaking, My Baby has been produced as a hybrid pigment print with screen-printed finishes and a bespoke embossed stamp. Featuring what he considers to be key themes that run throughout his practice – including areas of deliberately exposed linen canvas, the recurring motif of the winged Cupid figure, and attention to Brown and Black skin tones – this hybrid pigment print echoes the process behind, and materiality of, his paintings.
