The Wooden Pixel Series translates pixel-based imagery from the digital age into handcrafted wooden sculpture. Each work is individually cut, painted, and assembled by hand, transforming the logic of the pixel into a tactile, physical form.

From a distance, the pieces resemble pixelated images drawn from video games or digital screens; up close, the grain of the wood, the layering of paint, and the slight variations between each block reveal the process of making. This shift between digital reference and material reality sits at the core of the series.

Drawing on motifs such as pine trees, cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, and sushi, the works reinterpret familiar elements of Japanese culture through a contemporary and humorous lens. Produced in editions of 10, they balance the simplicity of pixel imagery with the warmth and individuality of handcraft.
