Liudmila Krutikova often plays with our perception, manipulating depth and persepctive. This monochromatic relief print appears at first economical in its visual language, a single floating shape. Upon closer looking, a continuity emerges between the lines where the ink had not travelled, producing an interesting visual effect where the boundary between inside and outside is collapsed. It is as though we are looking at the protruding edges of a geometric form, yet aslo looking deep within it.
