Claudia Hausfeld’s Under a Glisten of Mud, produced and exhibited at Trykkeriet during her artist in residency, explores the tension between surface and depth through a tactile, almost elemental visual language. The work draws on textures that evoke earth, residue, and organic matter, yet transforms them into something luminous and reflective. Hausfeld’s printmaking approach emphasizes process—layers seem to accumulate and shift, suggesting both concealment and revelation. The title hints at something obscured yet quietly shining through, and the composition mirrors this ambiguity. Rather than presenting a fixed image, the piece invites viewers to engage with materiality itself, where meaning emerges from the interplay of density, light, and the physical qualities of the printed surface.
