Ciara Phillips is a celebrated Canadian-born, UK-based artist known for her innovative approach to printmaking. Her work often explores the intersection of print, collaboration, and social engagement, creating dynamic, large-scale prints that reflect both personal and collective narratives. One of her standout pieces, The Squeeze, exemplifies her distinctive technique, merging abstraction with figuration through bold, layered prints. This work, like many of Phillips’ pieces, captures the tactile nature of printmaking and highlights its ability to convey both intimacy and tension.

Phillips’ contributions to contemporary art have been widely recognized. She was nominated for the prestigious Turner Prize in 2014, which celebrated her unique exploration of collaborative printmaking processes. In addition, she received the Queen's Prize for the Arts (QSPA) Award, underscoring her significant influence in the world of printmaking and contemporary art.

Currently, Phillips is also a professor of printmaking at the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, UIB in Bergen Norway, where she continues to inspire the next generation of artists with her expertise and passion for the print medium.
