- Through his freehand squeegee screenprinting technique Rupert Whale softly dragged the inks across the paper, overlaying colours on the left-hand-side of the composition. Building up the translucent layers resulted in a column of deep colour which is met on the other side with rapid, bursting, charcoal marks. The contrast between the static and dynamic sides fills this work with an energetic force.
