The Redfern Gallery
STAND W12
Founded in 1923, The Redfern Gallery is one of London’s longest-established dealers in Modern British and Contemporary art, now located on Pall Mall following decades on Cork Street.
For this year’s London Original Print Fair, the gallery presents a focused selection of prints by Patrick Procktor RA (1936-2003), coinciding with the publication of the major catalogue raisonné Patrick Procktor: The Complete Prints. Co-authored by John Crossley and Michael Healey, it documents all 149 prints with extensive research and high-resolution photography. Widely regarded as one of the finest British printmakers of his generation, Procktor mastered aquatint, etching, lithography, and screen printing over a career that spanned four decades. Working often from watercolours, he transformed compositions within the print studio through layered colour, tonal experimentation, and a distinctive handling of light. Today, Procktor’s prints are held in more than 140 public collections worldwide, with impressions purchased by the Museum of Modern Art, the British Museum, and the National Gallery of Australia.
The presentation will include works such as A Chinese Journey, Venice Suite I and II, and Cataract, Aswan, arguably Procktor’s most assured lithograph, produced at Curwen Studio in 1985.
