Allinson Gallery, Inc.

Online Exclusive

Established in 1982, Allinson Gallery, Inc. specializes in high-quality original etchings, lithographs, and woodcuts from the 19th and 20th centuries. We focus on works of exceptional condition and historical significance for seasoned collectors and public institutions worldwide.
Our exhibition, "The Whistlerian Vision," celebrates the mastery of James Abbott McNeill Whistler and his profound legacy within the British school. In anticipation of the major Whistler retrospective upcoming at Tate Britain, we are highlighting the technical brilliance of the preeminent British painter-etchers. This selection features masterworks by Whistler, Sir Francis Seymour Haden, Joseph Pennell, and Sir Frank Short, alongside other notable British artists who defined the evocative use of light and shadow in ink.The collection expands this vision to include international masters Anders Zorn, Félix Buhot, and Georges Rouault. The exhibition is further enriched by American masters of atmosphere and precision, including Martin Lewis, Edward Hopper, and John Taylor Arms, who refined the tonal depth and architectural clarity established by their British predecessors.
