It was published by “L’Estampe Moderne”, issue No.7, Novem 1897, and printed by Champenois. The blindstamp of the publication is in the lower right corner (Lugt 2790).
Evenepoel was a rising star in the art world when his life was cut short at the age of 27. He designed his best print for L’Estampe Moderne. It is one of the most desirable plates in the entire series.
