Edition of approx. 55
Image size: 68 x 53,5 cm
The present artwork is numbered in pencil below the image on the left and signed on the right.
The work was created in Vallauris, where Pablo Picasso regularly worked at the Madoura pottery studio run by Georges Ramié and Suzanne Ramié, after moving in the autumn from Paris to Golfe-Juan.
As early as 1947, following his stay in Antibes, Picasso had already taken the owl as the subject of lithographs. He also devoted himself to this motif in his ceramics.
