Kelly prints on Nepalese paper which is thicker and courser than Japanese washi paper to achieve a textural three-diemsional effect. He prints each of his images at least 40 times to achieve the contrasting colours via woodblock printing. In this work, Kelly has combined one of his earlier recurring images of ladies riding bicycles aginst a Kyoto landscape background with a ceramic bowl image.
