Hauser & Wirth debuts at London Original Print Fair (LOPF) with an outstanding selection of contemporary and historical works, reflecting the gallery’s diverse international programme and ongoing support for collaborations between artists and master printers. The gallery brings contemporary editions by Rita Ackermann, George Condo, Rashid Johnson, Mark Bradford, Amy Sherald, Thomas J Price, Anj Smith, Sonia Boyce, Bharti Kher and Mika Rottenberg, alongside prints by modern masters Louise Bourgeois, Luchita Hurtado, Eduardo Chillida, Takesada Matsutani and more. Following the gallery’s inauguration of a new dedicated Editions space in New York, our ongoing work with prints and editions highlights the important role of printmaking within the multifaceted practices of its international family of artists.

Hauser & Wirth also brings four special charitable editions to LOPF. These include benefit prints by Bharti Kher, the proceeds of which will support her forthcoming solo exhibition at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, opening on Saturday 22 June 2024; Anj Smith, with proceeds going to Chisenhale Gallery; and the late Phyllida Barlow, one of the last works the artist made before her passing on Sunday 12 March 2023, with proceeds going to The Hepworth Wakefield. Also featured is a special edition lamp by Mika Rottenberg, titled ‘Earth Edition Series’ (2023), created from recycled household plastic for Earth Day 2024. The edition benefits Art to Acres and Mika Rottenberg’s plastic reclamation studio.
Recent works released by Hauser & Wirth Editions in the last six months are showcased in London for the first time, including two screenprints by Rita Ackermann made in collaboration with Keigo Takahashi; an etching by George Condo; a silkscreen by Rashid Johnson; Mark Bradford’s ‘Rona’ (2023) and Amy Sherald’s ‘As soft as she is...’ (2023), both produced in collaboration with Luther Davis, master printer at Powerhouse Arts.
Thomas J Price’s woodblock print, ‘Shattered Times (Camden, Point of Contact #1)’ (2019) is shown alongside works by other London-based artists, including Sonia Boyce’s ‘Sofia’ (2021), which debuted in her Golden Lion-winning exhibition at the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (2022).
Prints by modern masters Louise Bourgeois and Luchita Hurtado are offered alongside 20th-century works by Eduardo Chillida presented in tandem with the centenary of the artist’s birth. The booth also includes a selection of historic works by Takesada Matsutani from the 1960s – 1970s, during which time he worked at Atelier 17 in Paris, Stanley William Hayter’s printmaking studio.
Alongside LOPF, YSP will present a sale of original prints by artist Robert Indiana, from Gillian and Simon Salama-Caro of The Robert Indiana Legacy Initiative from Thursday 21 March – Saturday 20 April 2024. Hosted at our London gallery, this benefit print exhibition supports the charitable aims of YSP.
