- A print from the series Sennen was exhibited as part of the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in 2024. The series is named after Sennen Cove in Cornwall, a place that has deeply influenced Guy Rutter’s work. While studying in Cornwall, Rutter drew inspiration from the St. Ives painters of the 20th century and had the opportunity to meet artists like Patrick Heron. In these screenprints, Rutter turns his attention to the vibrancy of the Sennen Cove beach. The underlying stripes of colour in his compositions speak to the dress, towels, and swimming costumes of its beachgoers, as well as the kaleidoscope of sand and sky.
