- Framed in black frame and non-reflective museum glass.
- In Red Cross precise forms are repeated, juggled and juxtaposed into patterns of deep colour. Guy Rutter’s artistic experiments and his evolving compositions are informed by his work in film and TV as a scene painter. Rutter is highly attentive in his choice of inks, mixing them by hand to achieve subtle tonal shifts in his prints. He has a particular interest in ‘new’ colours, such as those seen in the hi-vis reflections of road signs. His inks are marked by a special gloss finish, an unusual feature for screen printing, applied onto thick Somerset paper differentiated by its fine texture and tone.
