This portfolio of etchings by Tracey Emin is derived from a series of 19 monoprints made in 1994, collectively titled ‘Illustrations From Memory’. 16 works from this series were exhibited as part of ‘Borrowed Light’ – Emin’s exhibition for the British Pavilion at the 2007 Venice Biennale.
In Illustrations From Memory 1994, four works are presented together in a small edition of 50 sets.
Typically autobiographical in her approach, Emin’s drawings narrate fragments of memory that explore notions of intimacy, mutuality and a profound sense of embodiment.
