Morgan O’Hara draws in real time with both hands to track closely observed movement into accumulations of graphite lines, combining the controlled refinement of classical drawing with the sensuality of spontaneous gesture. O’Hara made the drawing for this print by tracking the movement of a five-year-old girl who spends hours playing at home and outdoors with her stuffed animals, dolls, toys, and cat. The girl’s energy is intense and uninterrupted as she flows from activity thing to another: dancing, running, concentrating, jumping around, and teasing the cat. The lines were printed in white on black paper.
