Edition of 34. Victoria Crowe has been described as ‘one of the most vital and original figurative painters currently at work in Scotland’. Her work is represented in a large number of public and private collections. She lives and works in the Scottish Borders and Venice.
Based on sketches of dusk and the gloaming evening light after sunset, Midnight Dawn explores the mood, colour, and light of the Orkney landscapes. Crowe explored working on stone to produce lithographs with characteristic delicate tusche washes and pen and in lines, very similar to the watercolour sketches she produced up in Orkney.
